Supporting a Veteran’s Path to Permanent Housing
VSF funds were used to help a veteran transition into permanent housing. The veteran had been experiencing homelessness and was living in emergency housing at Union Mission in Norfolk.
During this time, the veteran secured both a full-time and a part-time job. However, he would not receive his first paychecks in time to cover the costs of moving into his new apartment and did not yet have enough saved for the required expenses.
VSF assistance helped cover his security deposit, prorated rent, and utility deposits, allowing him to move into stable housing.
