D-BAT Virginia Beach Raises Awareness and $45K for Veteran Suicide Prevention

On Veterans Day weekend, D-BAT Virginia Beach owner and Virginia Veterans Services Foundation Board Trustee Craig Colucci hosted a Hit-A-Thon, raising over $45,000 for the Jones and Cabacoy Veterans Care Center. The event brought together volunteer teams, including one from News 3, who collectively achieved 6,400 hits—a number representing the estimated annual veteran suicides. Colucci, a 20-year Army veteran, personally contributed $20,000 to the effort. The funds raised will support various programs at the center, including the creation of a sensory room.
