The Department of Veterans Affairs has finalized a new regulation that streamlines survivors’ claims by allowing VA to pay the higher of Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC) or Survivors Pension without delaying processing — a change designed to get payments to eligible spouses, children and parents more quickly.
